OK, yes, that was quite good. The religious imagery was laid on a bit thick (John is the anti-robot Messiah, Sarah is Mary -- though the first film does match on to the Annunciation quite well, if it had Satan sending a murderous robot to try and avert things; probably I am just extremely stupid never to have noticed this stuff before but I am slow at picking up Christian memes in pop culture) and car chases don't do much for me, so hopefully there won't be quite as many of either of those aspects in future. But other than that, it was interesting and promising. I am not 100% sure how I feel about how getting to see Cameron's HUD gives us extra information than what's available to Sarah and John about why she didn't kill him, or what I feel about "robot develops emotion" as a plotline, but yes, interesting.
I'm glad they didn't try and keep up a "is she a Terminator?" thing with Shirley Manson, though, 'cos she obviously was. I do have a theory she's a Terminator who's broken her programming, to match thematically with Cameron and just because it gives her an angle other than "Terminator sent back by Skynet to bring about Skynet's creation".
OK, I am making up batshit predictions. That means I am getting into it.
