Then I Googled for more info.
It's being written by Gary Russell. Who ... well, I don't have many nice things to say about Gary Russell, and I'm in the sort of mood where I want to provide a bit of positive balance to anything negative I say, so I'm just going to not say anything. (EsomewhatlaterTA: though I have just had an epiphany that having spent years boggling at the people who have such a downer on JNT and RTD, I feel about Gary Russell pretty much exactly the way they do about those producers.)
And it's basically missing adventures from the second half of S3 (same as the Ten/Martha books essentially). Which means if we get any shippiness at all, we're going to have to handle the unrequited again. Though to be honest, I doubt there'll be much shippiness. (Hmm. There's a rumour, or maybe just a strongly-held wish, that they realise the unrequited was a mistake, so maybe they'll use the comic as a chance to try and suggest it's not as bad as it seemed on TV, but unless it's done very well that'll just make it harder to watch the TV eps.)
And heaven knows I'm no great art critic, but I'm not hugely convinced by the sketches on that CBR page either. I don't demand photo-realism in mah spinoff comics (or I wouldn't love Jeanty's work in Buffy S8 so much), but some of the poses seem to suggest they're the Stretch Armstrong doll versions of Ten'n'Martha.
Ah, well, it's not like I haven't got the graphic novels of the DWM comics to sigh over.
