OK, guys, so I just got what looks like a genuine looking email from YouTube saying "You are receiving this email because a new password was requested for your YouTube account. If you did not request a new password for this account, ignore this email and continue to use your current password."

This makes me think:

a) someone has made a half-hearted attempt to hack my YT account what I only created for the purposes of arguing with newschoolers who were getting their canon wrong. (What?)
b) this happens often enough that YouTube's emails are designed to just breeze past it to make you not worry.

Am I anywhere near the mark?

I've been online over a decade now, so I feel fairly confident I've got this right:

(honestly not inspired by any one individual)

(ETA: Obviously if you're on my flist, you're in the (100-x)% in whatever category you're in.)

Image macros in general I (kind of) get. Cat macros I get, 'cos, cats, yay.

But this whole "motivational poster" subgenre (of which my shiny new icon courtesy of [info]pinkishmew is an example) baffles me, even while I find them highly amusing. Where did it get started? I have never seen an RL "motivational poster" in this mould. Is that because I look in the wrong places?

And is there a roflbot equivalent for making them, where you upload a picture and it whacks a black border round it and puts text of the appropriate font underneath?

... am I the only one whose instinct for going "Clicky link! Clicky link!" is so strong that I'm more likely to come across spoilers because of them being cut than if they'd been left in the open?

20 things meme

The "write 20 random things about yourself" meme, only I can't be bothered with timing myself or tagging.

This ended up being oddly confessional in places )

Definitely bedtime now.
